What does a Brand Photography Session with Fortis actually Look Like?

When I shoot a brand session, I don’t immediately pick up a camera and just start shooting. Brand photography isn’t just about the photos themselves. Brand photography includes the strategic thoughtful purposes and intentional marketing strategies behind those images.

Which is why we start with a discovery call so that I can assess whether or not my services would be a good fit for your business. I love to work with local small businesses who are primarily service providers. These local small businesses are either run by a solo entrepreneur or by a small team.

Within that discovery call we assess whether or not you need just headshot for you as the business owner. Or if you need heads shots for each individual member of your team. Then we assess whether or not you need a team photo. More than likely if you have a small team, it is always a good idea to capture a team photo. It helps showcase the unity and cohesion of your team when it comes to serving your clients.

The next thing is whether or not you and your business are ready for brand photography not just the head shots. Brand photography is about capturing your team and you as the business owner in action serving your clients. Brand photography is about capturing the environment in which you work. Brand photography is about capturing the tools you use to serve your clients. And most importantly brand photography is about showing the personality and the brand experience that you and your team offers to your clients.

Discovery Call

Discovery Calls are important because they allow us to both understand how the other works and how I can help you!

Once we know what you need, the next step is filling out our contract, sending the invoice, and filling out our client questionnaire. Our client questionnaire is a thorough series of questions asking you specific things about your businesses mission, vision, values, and the experiences that you want to deliver to your clientele.

Boring But Important

These are the actual business steps side of working with a photographer. Once all this is out of the way, the fun part begins.

After your client questionnaire is filled out, I take some time to review it and then I schedule a strategy session with you. That strategy session is typically an hour to an hour and a half long zoom, or Google meets phone call where I go over your questionnaire and ask you any follow up questions that I have and we start to plan out what your session will look like. We also make sure that the location, date, time, and outfits for all involved are ready (or almost ready to go).

Where the real fun Begins!

Locations, outfits, and overall planning start here. This is where you get access to our Locations guide as well, that has over 40+ locations in Holland, Zeeland, and surrounding areas.

After our strategy session, I pull the notes from our call as well as the notes from your questionnaire and put together a “ session guide” for your specific photo shoot. The session guide is a detailed document outlining our goals for the session, including shot list, timelines, who needs to be there and when, and inspiration and mood boards for the photos that we are trying to capture.

Once I’m done with the session guide, I sent it over for you to look through and approve. I want us to make sure that we are on the same page when it comes to what we need to capture. And assuming that I did my homework correctly, the session guide should reflect the things that we talked about in our strategy call and things that you mentioned in your client questionnaire.

Next up is the actual session date itself. Day of the session we make sure that everybody is ready to go and knows what they’re doing and we are following the session guide. I typically will print the session guide or have it ready to go on my phone so I can reference it throughout the session. Once we have captured everything we need from the session guide, we can loosen up and get even more creative with on-the-fly ideas.

And then I take those photos and bring them to my editing room where I spend up to a week to two weeks editing and perfecting the final images. At the end, you receive a client gallery link where you can view your gallery download images or get prints if necessary. You also receive our Free implementation guide and an invitation to book a VIP implementation day.

After the Session

Editing, Sitting Back. & Gallery Deliver

Our VIP implementation day is a service for Fortis clients only. This is where we take the photos that we captured during your brand session and start putting them where it matters. We hope you draft introduction post for your Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We help you draft your first nine social media post with those images. And we help you implement those photos into your website in strategic spots that elevate your clients online experience with your business. This service is a service you can book for $750.00. The service typically takes about 5 to 7 hours to get done. While we do this, we ask that you are readily available to answer any questions that we have that come up and that you are available at the end of the day that we do the service for us to walk you through on a zoom call everything that we’ve done on your implementation day.

After all of this, we invite you to join our email list and leave us a review on Google. And from there you have brand new brand images. And if you ever need more brand images or a brand refresh, we are happy to accommodate that with another one of our brand one off sessions or you’re welcome to join our quarterly content club. This is for business owners who need regular updated visual content, or need regular photo and video help for their marketing. It’s a great way to stay on top of your marketing strategy for the year.

Our quarterly content club works the exact same way that our normal brand sessions do. Except you get that four times a year. Four strategy sessions. Four photo sessions and four opportunities for us at Fortis Media to help you create visual marketing that actually moves the needle in your business.

Brand Photos are a great way to get your brand visual content to be fresh and allows your clients to understand and know who you are! So if your brand is ready for a REFRESH then let’s talk!
