Why you need brand photography in your business
Let me ask you something. Does your brand feel personable? No, really? Does your brand show personality? Does it feel relatable? When a client sees your website, blogs, or social media do they feel a human connection to you?
If you can answer, yes to all of those, you are probably using brand photography already. But if your answer is no, you probably aren’t using brand photography yet. You are either not using much visual content at all or you are using stock photos and videos.
Let me tell you the truth about stock photography. It’s generic it’s not personalized. And it’s not fitting the vibe of your business respectfully. I’m not saying these things to make you feel bad. I’m just telling you the truth. I’m telling it to you the way that I know your clients are seeing it already. If you aren’t using personalized brand photography, you are hurting your brand. And let me tell you why.
If your ideal client clicked on your website and saw a generic photo of some random business owner talking to some “ clients” and interacting with clients in a way that has absolutely no relation to your industry, then right off the bat you are immediately confusing your potential ideal client.
Alternatively, if your ideal client clicked on your website and saw your headshot in the mini section on your main page (remember this is different from your actual about Page that has more details). Then they saw a photo of the same person from that headshot helping somebody who looks like they need help with whatever specific service that you offer, that is more likely to make your ideal Client linger a little longer.
Do you see the difference? In the first scenario, your ideal client can’t make a direct connection with you the business owner because you don’t have a headshot and you’re using random stock images that you found on a free site two years ago.
In the second scenario, they see a business owner with a professional looking headshot that clearly makes it obvious that they own the business and they are who they say they are. And they have a photo of what looks like themselves working with a client that is like them.
Again, do you see the difference? Who do you think your ideal client will connect with more? What do you think your ideal client is going to do when they see the business owner whose website is more like corporate camouflage and less like a local small business owner who genuinely cares about the experiences they provide to their clients.
Your visuals in your website, and in your marketing matter more than you think. In an age where artificial intelligence and mistrust are at the forefront of online interaction, it has never been more important to have visual content that actually speaks to your ideal client.
Brand photography isn’t just a nice to have. It’s a must have! Brand photography is about capturing you serving the clients that you are meant to serve. It’s about capturing the experience that only you can provide.
Your brand photography plays an important role in helping potential clients understand who you are, what you offer, and what it feels like to work with you. While stock photography can fill a space, personalized brand photography creates a stronger human connection by showing your personality, your services, and the real experience you provide to your ideal clients.
