Drone Photography & Videography

For West Michigan Business Owners who want to stand out

Why Drone Photography?

Drone photography & Videography is a unique way to show your business from a completely wild and new perspective!

Your audience doesn’t just want to see your building. They want to understand where you are, how it feels, and what makes your space different. Drone imagery gives context that ground level photography simply can’t capture.

Licensed Remote Pilot Since 2024

Hey there! My name is Regan! I have been a licensed remote pilot since June of 2024, and since then have logged over 30+ hours of studying, 60+ hours of flight time, and 500+ safely accomplished flights.

I really enjoy flying and love the unique perspectives that can be captured when flying a drone.

The License

My license looks like this pretty piece of plastic

You might be thinking, “I didn’t know you needed a license to fly a drone.”

Before 2024, I had no idea either! But, if you fly a drone for commercial purposes (or in other words are being paid to fly it) you need to have a Remote Pilot License with the Federal Aviation Administration. Which is what I have. When you hire a drone pilot always confirm that they have a Part 107 Remote Pilot License.

Drone Photography Is Perfect For:

the process

Here’s how drone photo and video services with Fortis Media works

  • The first step is a discovery & inital connection call!

Together we will talk through your goals as they pertain to photos and I’ll recommend which of my photo packages would be the best fit for you!

After paying a 50% retainer and signing our contract we are officially off to the planning stage!

  • Part of the Fortis process is making sure that we plan ahead what we need to capture! This allows us to make sure we get all the necessary shots and still leave some room for creativity as it strikes us!

Onboarding: Once we have you added to our system you will receive an email with our Client Welcome Packet, our locations guide, if you need it (that we exclusively share with just our clients), our branding shot list, and a client questionnaire. Later on you’ll also get our Style guide, if we are capturing you or your employees in the aerials.

Planning Session: After you have had a chance to look through all this information and fill out the questionnaire we either get together in person over coffee (which is my favorite) or we hop on a video chat.

Custom Session Guide & Flight Plan: I’ll put together a summary of everything we talked about in our strategy session including our schedule, shot list, flight plan information and any other important info.

  • After we have our plan in place it’s time for the most fun part! The actual shoot day! We shoot what we have planned and mapped out in the flight plan and Session guide.

  • 3-5 business days after your session you’ll receive a beautiful online portrait gallery with all your images/video! From the gallery you will be able to heart your favorites, download the ones you want, and order prints of them, if you have that need. You’ll also receive a commercial use license with your gallery!

  • Then the absolute best part = The business boosting part! A few days after you receive your gallery you’ll receive the Fortis implementation guide! This guide walks you through best practices on how to use your images/video.

Implementation VIP Day: If you are a busy bee or aren’t quite sure how to go about putting your content to good use, we provide what we call the Implementation VIP day, where you can hire us to spend a few hours on one day helping you implement your photos across all the different platforms that your business is present on! This is an exclusive service that we only offer to our current clients.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • The collections mention the “Starting at” because, we may have to factor in additional images or video.

  • That is totally fine. We can talk through that in our discovery call. Most businesses really do not need more than 3-5 images or 3-4 minute video.

  • When we do a discovery call, I will ask you questions that will help me access what you need. If I feel like we are not a good fit for each other or if I think that you probably don’t need aerial content then I will tell you that honestly.

    AND MORE!!

  • Having a flight plan in order ensures that all individuals involved are being safe around the drone. It also ensures that we are following FAA regulations and safety guidelines.

  • Simply ask. When you ask a drone pilot if they have a license, most will be more than happy to show you their license (myself included).

  • The Simple answer is no. Some locations require specific approval from the FAA (I have to go into my Drone Zone account and request access to fly in particular cases). There are also some areas that are completely restricted from flying in and it can be difficult (sometimes even unlikely) to get approval.

  • Drone flights are weather dependent. If wind, rain, or unsafe conditions prevent flying, we will move the session to our back up shoot date (which is included in the Flight plan you receive for your session).

Your business has a bigger story than what can be seen from the ground.
