The Business Photo Membership Sessions with Well Being Nutrition
6 months. 1 business. A whole lot of creativity, photos, videos, and growth! How did we get there to begin with though? One word. Strategy!
Annie, the owner at Well Being Nutrition, needed help updating her business visuals in a way that properly reflected herself and her business values. Annie is a nutrition specialist. She works with individuals to create personalized nutrition plans to help them feel better throughout their whole bodies!
“I offer expert nutrition solutions for a better, more comfortable being. My services support chronic and complex conditions, including diabetes, peri-menopause, post-menopause, cardiovascular disease, digestive health, and so much more!” ~ Annie’s Site
Once I knew what her business was about, by checking out her website and having her fill out our membership form, we got to work! It started with getting together (over a good cup of coffee, of course) and talking about what it was that she wanted to see from the membership. She needed new headshots, some custom stock photos, & some short form reel videos. In three individual sessions we were able to capture new headshots, custom stock photos, & 3 short form reel videos for her social media.
Once, we knew what she needed content wise, we started planning what she should wear. I sent her my Styling Guide, she picked out some outfits she thought would work, ask for my insight on the outfits (she knew exactly what she needed when it came to styling herself). She used her brand color palette to help her really make sure that her photos aligned with the rest of her brand.

In our strategy session, we also discussed where she wanted to do each of the three sessions, when she wanted to the sessions, and how we would go about maximizing the time we had together to create! 3 locations, 3 dates, 3 times, 3 separate mini game plans! So with all that in mind + the information about her brand values, colors, and choosing her outfits, we were ready to get started shooting.
Check, Check, check, & check! Here’s how those sessions went . . .
The Stock Photos Session
For her stock photos, she wanted to do them at the Saugatuck Farmers market because the colors and the vibes at the market where a great reflection of her own business. From the pops of red on the metal beams over the gardens, to the blue of building itself, and to the vibrant greens, oranges, and yellows of the vendor tables at the market, the whole area was the dream place for stock photos ( and a few headshots) for her brand! We captured some photos of her at the market, but also of different items in the market like fruits & veggies at the stands, and plants in the garden. Since Annie, works closely with food, we felt that capturing some shots of the foods at the market was a must.
She often times has consultation calls with her clients over video chats/phone chats from her computer, so we also wanted to capture some shots of her “talking” to her clients, so as to give her future leads a chance to see some behind the scenes situations. We captured this inside of the beautiful market space, as again the colors and overall nature of the market really helped to bring her brand images together.
Since we had some extra time that day, we also captured a few headshots in the greenery and serenity of the market. It was a beautiful (although slightly warm) day for photos.
The Headshots Photo Session
The second session we did was her headshots! For these we decided to go out to Wayland to a gorgeous studio call MI Studio Space. The studio had a variety of backdrops, props, and little spaces that we were able to use in whatever way we needed. The studio also has a full kitchen, which was perfect for the “nutrition” aspect of Annie’s business. Before starting on headshots we decided to utilize the kitchen a little.
Annie is a Shaklee Ambassador. She incorporates Shaklee product use into her nutrition plans with her clients, if they want to. So we captured some shots of her making a Shaklee tea product. After we captured those shots, we went straight into capturing headshots.
For all of Annie’s headshots, we decided that we needed to capture her in spaces that were bright, airy, and had a splash of color to them. So we utilized some of those backdrops in the studio, along with some of the props and created a gallery of headshot images full of color, texture, and depth.
The Video Reels Session
The Video Reels were the final session! For this session, Annie wanted to borrow her friends designer kitchen to create her reels. For the reels, Annie had three separate ideas that she wanted to capture. The first was to capture a grocery haul video. This reel was a short video showing all the different food ingredients that she bought from her local grocery store. Annie wanted to make this video part of a short series, showing how you can shop for healthy ingredients and create a healthy meal from those ingredients. We made the video cut quickly between her standing at the kitchen counter with full grocery bags (so that you couldn’t see the food she bought, and a clip of the food all spread out and sitting on the counter. The meat of the reel was going to be in the caption of the video where she explained in more detail what sort of nutritional value each of the ingredients has.
The second reel was a video of her actually creating the meal from those ingredients. Annie got to work doing her thing, slicing, dicing, baking, & sautéing. I captured different angles, different points of view (depth wise), and used movement and my knowledge of lighting to create a smooth video showing, the ease and calm of creating a healthy meal.
The third reel was a video of her showing off the 5 day reset box from Shaklee. She wanted to do an “unboxing” video. So we worked together to capture shots of her opening the box up and showing off each day’s individual box in short, snappy clips. These clips would capture and hold her audiences attention long enough to divert them to her caption, where she would again explain more about the Shaklee product.

Reel Videos
All these sessions, came together seamlessly, creating 3 galleries that showcase her brand in a way that reflects her brand values, colors, and the real person behind the business. She could now take the images we captured and integrate them into her website, her social media’s and more. She could elevate her brand visuals with a few custom images that would easily match her brand and steer her business in the direction she wanted to take it.
In Summary . . .
Our Business Photo Membership helped Annie grow her content supply so she could confidently show up online. With visuals that showed not just who she was, but what her business is all about! We created reels, headshots and stock photos that help her talk to her clients about what her business can do for them and how she can best serve them!
